RainbowNote: notebook/diary with photo calendar App Reviews

RN has worked pretty well until today (April 3,2012). Now it errors out syncing to Google Notes. It has been a LONG time since the support pages have been updated and the blog only talks about version 2.5.1 - the latest update is 2.6. Hopefully this will get fixed soonest.

I have used Rainbow notes for a couple of years now. It is great for syncing notes to Google Docs and back. It has worked perfectly up until last week when it stopped syncing with Google Docs. I just checked the RainbowNote website though and they say a fix is in the works and this should be corrected shortly. I would wait to download until that fix is applied. The current version is 2.6, so wait for the next release. I will change this to 5 stars when the fix is applied.

Perfect with Outlook and google sync

This is the only real option for offline availability of Google Drive! It used to have problems syncing many folders....but now it is trouble free. Support team is awesome! Im NOT a developer, just a user who has tried EVERYTHING out there, and choose Rainbownote hands-down!

As a writer Ive tried a number of note/memo apps including Evernote, Simplenote, Notemaster, Docs to Go etc.. & I love this one the best. Great interface...It syncs perfectly with Google Docs & its one of the few that allows you to find & replace words & terms in a note ( I use that feature constantly) & search for a specific word in all your notes. Its Great!

I have been looking at several note or memo apps that sync with Google Docs (now Google Drive), and this one seems to be the best. You get multi-level folders, write-protection in memos so you dont accidentally change them, text searching that actually takes you to the word or phrase in the memos, search & replace, font control at the memo level, memos with photos, and much more. Syncing with Google is quick and painless, and it works both ways. You just have to remember not to edit from both iPhone and Google before syncing. The only thing lacking, and I hope they put it into a future upgrade, is password protection at the folder level. You can password-protect the the whole app, but not just individual folders. This makes it a pain to use password protection because I am always in and out of this app all day, and I dont want to login every time I use it. Folder level protection would give me the additional protection from prying eyes I want for just certain files.The other thing that would be adding Undo & Redo buttons to replace the dreaded "shake" Undo / Redo action. These two additions would make this app a complete package, and then I could give it the 5 stars I want it to have.

Do not go by my old review when I loved it. Because I had it since day 1. Possibly 2007 or earlier. I still got charged after it deleted all my information and I decided not to renew. I wrote why, but not on review because they ask you not to post negatives. I did get a response a month later. They said Apple charge me which was not true- I checked. I guess they could not believe I meant it since I used to even have a button to get to them on my savings blog. No, the rainbow note we knew and loved is gone.

It has password lock, and if you have a google account you can back it all up easily and keep it safe. Many customizing options to choose from, and comfortable to use. Im very picky about these kinds of apps, but this one rocks. Highly recommend. although the lite version should have a larger limit.

It was ahead of its time. Still great though it hasnt been greatly updated. Nice looking App

Ive tried numerous note apps and have deleted all others since trying this one. Love it.

This was the only app I could find that would import all of my pre-existing blackberry notes (which I copied into google docs notes). Its very easy to use and I like having google docs as a backup and desktop-based way to edit notes.

I use this app for doing pottery, I can take pictures then make notes on my glazes and techniques. I also like that if I cant remember what I called the note, there is a calendar and I can look at my notes through time. My favorite part is that adding and editing a note is intuitive and very fast. I havent started playing with the themes and effects yet but they seem extensive an with tons of custom options. Great app!

This app was working well when I got it and now Im noticing that periodically itll close after I snap a picture and save it to my note. When will this be corrected? I use this app a lot at work.

Still loving this app! So handy for me, I put everything in it right down to some of my favorite recipes. You updated it regularly and its just an awesome app. Thank you :)

Finally got the interface update I was waiting so long for! Fits right in with the iOS 7 look. Great note app for syncing with google drive, with nested folders that many other note apps do not support. Now, to iron out some functionality aspects: 1. Sync works great, yet it must be done manually-- no autosync, which is a nuisance, since by the time you remember, it takes a longer time to complete. 2. The themes for the notes are just hideous, tacky. Would love having more elegant simple looking ones. 3. No print option for notes. Must email them to yourself or open them in another app if you want an option to print. I like jotting down and retrieving recipes on the fly, so not being able to print them out as needed is also inconvenient.

The best to keep all your notes.. I give to them 5 star.

it says $3.99 on the app but then they Bill u for $7. im so mad right now I dont even want to use the app. Not only that but all of my entries from the prior free version do not sync to the new version so I dont even want it and Im going to dispute the charge and delete it

I love this app, I have been using this app for several years now! I would love some cosmetic changes! I have even tried other apps in the mean time and I still love the features for rainbow notes! I love the Google drive sync! And I love how u can put more then one photo under one day! I just would like some more cosmetic options!
